The Opportunity
The Data Engineer is responsible for connecting systems, creating interfaces and integrating relevant data to enable users to transform raw data into usable data.
He/she analyses the needs expressed by users, proposes implementation solutions and takes into account potential impacts according to the Michelin Group's prescriptions in terms of security, feasibility and confidentiality to guarantee a qualitative access to data sources.
Design and impact analysis
* Contribute to define feasibility (technical options...), functional design and solution validation.
* Performs impact analysis related to data captivation (system performance in production, security, etc.)
* Identifies the source of physical data
* Enforces security and confidentiality rules for data on its perimeter
Implementation and Deployment
* Completes and executes data collection procedures
* Builds data collection infrastructure (IoT: Internet of Things, sensors, database, files, etc.)
* Deploys data collection infrastructure and procedures
* Measures the impact on the technical chain implemented (from the connected object to the storage system)
* Completes the vital tests to validate the solution
* Documents the implemented solutions
* Understand the As Is Information Management system
* Support the 3-year roadmap to achieve the Information Management transformation plan based on business needs
* Communicate evolution needs through the IM network
* Request funding and resources from appropriate source
* Experience with SQL, C#, Python, Microsoft.NET, and Power BI preferred.
Support and troubleshooting
* Analyzes and understands the origin of a complex malfunction, incident or bug.
* Adopts a proactive approach to avoid or identify root causes of problems.
* Provides technical assistance to users.
* Understand the interaction between IM systems and data flow
* Solicit & Identify IS evolutions to improve business effectiveness
